A 'walk and ride' trail between Bodiam and Northiam railway stations. Start your trip with a ride on the wonderful Kent & East Sussex Railway from Tenterden to Bodiam, walk to Northiam Station and then return to Tenterden with the train.
Kent & East Sussex Railway
This rural light railway line gently wends its way from Tenterden - "The Jewel of The Weald" for ten and a half miles, through the unspoilt countryside of the Rother Valley, to terminate in the shadow of the magnificent National Trust castle at Bodiam.
Vintage steam and historic diesel trains dating from Victorian times transport you back in time. Refreshments are available at Tenterden station and on many trains, including cream teas, light lunches and luxury Pullman dining for dinners.
Assuming a constant pace and no stops, typically it will take 1 hour 34 minutes to walk the distance and along the way 419 calories will be burnt.

Great walk really good to more or less follow the valley, went through lovey orchards and saw the combine harvester hard at work Ewhurst was lovely and had a nice picnic area at there park, the only down point was getting lost trying to find the foot path from Ewhurst to Ockham as I walked through the field there were no hints were to go this could be due to my poor map skills but ultimately once relooking at the map after wards at home I realised the map and the sign post were different hence I walked the wrong way I found my way by walking the lanes, and for any one who does this walk at Ewhurst at the point that takes you to Ockham go right along the hedge row past what is a triangle of trees on the map not left at the sign says Other than that it was a perfect walk I would 100% recommend it to anyone!!
