Transport yourself from the bustle of Witney to the beautiful, quiet lanes of the Windrush Valley on this delightful ride into the Cotswold countryside. On your way to the market town of Northleach, you will pass the ruined priory of Minster Lovell, Burford's picture-postcard High Street, and the National Trust's Sherborne Estate – and enjoy some stunning views as buzzards soar overhead.

17 miles of fine Cotswold scenery await the cyclist on a well signposted route passing through historic market towns and honey-coloured stone villages. Witney has several cycle paths providing safe routes to Burford Road on the north side of town.

Regional Route 47 follows the cycle path beside Burford Road as far as Minster Lovell. The route then follows country lanes along the Windrush Valley, often undulating but never steep – with one exception approaching Farmington. Only one main road is encountered, in Burford, and several pubs along the way offer refreshment.

Assuming a constant pace and no stops, typically it will take 2 hours 11 minutes to cycle the distance and along the way 924 calories will be burnt.
