The Strawberry Trail is a figure of eight walking path in the Hamble River Valley. Starting from Botley the first loop heads north west to the edge of Eastleigh before returning via the Itchen Valley Country Park and Manor Farm Country Park.
The second, smaller loop follows the River Hamble to Bursledon before making a circuit of the Royal Victoria Country Park beside Southampton Water and the pretty Hamble-le-Rice.
The footpath is managed by Eastleigh Borough Council. The area was once an important strawberry growing region. Hamble and the Solent Water have a long history of boat-building and you will find marinas and boating activity along the trail.
Assuming a constant pace and no stops, typically it will take 9 hours 20 minutes to walk the distance and along the way 2495 calories will be burnt.
